This SHG grade (strictly high grown) coffee is a wonderful naturally processed coffee cultivated at high altitudes in a tropical paradise, founded on nutrient rich volcanic soils near the Cero Datanli Cloud Forest in Nicaragua. The careful cherry selection and slow sun drying of the natural process makes for a highly sought after coffee featuring prominent elegant fruit forward flavors.
The taste! This is one of those coffees that reminds me why so many people love the natural processed method so much. An immediate ripe berry smell rises from both the bag and the brewed cup. In the cup there is a well-balanced mix of blueberry, raspberry jam, stone fruit, and cane sugar. The flavor is lush and ripe with notes of silky honey sweetness, lifted by a slight candied-lemon brightness and a gentle winey finish. This is a great complex and drinkable coffee, which shines as a filter / pour over but also makes for an adventurous espresso.
