This organic Grade 1 coffee was grown in the highlands of Ethiopias East Guji Zone at elevations 2200 meters above sea level, where cool temperatures and natural semi forest create ideal conditions for producing exceptional coffee. The regions fertile soils and high altitude allow the cherries to ripen slowly, developing the sweetness, complexity and vibrant character that makes Guji one of the most celebrated coffee growing regions.
As soon as you open the bag a sweet berry aroma will greet you. This is a well balanced, clean and complex coffee that highlights the elegance of high grown Guji naturals. It is sweet, delicate, fruity, and floral. There are several layers of berries complemented by a tropical fruit depth and flair. The first note is sweet red fruit that’s strawberry-like but with a little papaya, raspberry and hibiscus in there too, and a slight lemon-zest brightness for a mild tingle on the taste buds. Everything is underpinned by a nutty chocolate backbone that holds the pallet of flavors together. This is one of those naturals that tastes even better as the cup cools. One to savor and enjoy slowly if you can.
